Monday Is Barack Obama Bio NightI I

I hope the convention played well out there in TV land.  It was great seeing Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama.  Moving in different ways.  I am falling asleep.......

Ted Kennedy is such a fantastic leader.  Just makes me a little verklempt.

Michelle was awesome and those girls seem like they are really special.  No surprise there.

I went to a meeting about the Jewish vote today.  There are several states where the election could be close enough for the Jewish vote to be a key factor.  One of those states is Virginia!

I am working the contacts here and hope to return home with stuff to do for building the progressive Jewish presence in the Commonwealth.

At The Greenest Convention......Ever?

I arrived in Denver a couple hours ago.  Nice plane flight on SW.  Met some nice folks and even a polite reporter from the American Spectator.

But tonight I just want to share how my hotel is trying to change the world.  They buy produce locally, use plastic bottles made from corn, some kind of recycled wood for our room "keys" and I am told we are going to see a serious effort to be environmentally conscious.  Looking forward to seeing how they do with getting people to recycle all the plastic bottles and paper.

I will report more on this topic, if not this week, in some detail after the convention.

Obama-Biden

While the selection of Senator Biden is a terrific choice from the standpoint of governing, the key now is what he brings to the campaign.

My take away from today is that Obama is committed to winning the election.  He picked the person who has the most to offer in terms of what this ticket needed for balance.

Enjoy the convention and get ready for a hard fought campaign.  We can  all take a deep breath of satisfaction.   Barack knows what he has to do.

Reporting From The Democratic Convention

I will be spending next week at the Democratic Convention in Denver, CO.  So, this seems like a good time for me to finally start a blog about my favorite subject.  Of course, that would be politics.  Please bear with me while I get used to having  a site mostly full of my own words.  That means I might be more cautious for a while than some people might expect.  Even though I have generally written under my own name, this seems different.

I will be attending various events during the day, talking with people and, of course, attending the high profile events at the convention itself.  Hopefully, I will have some worthy commentary to share with you.

This will be my first visit to the great state of Colorado.  If you have any tips about what to do in Denver, feel free to let me know.  My friend Adam who is joining me and I would certainly appreciate it.
